CUSTOM BAG BUYER GUIDE

Custom Cosmetic Bag Export Cartons: What Buyers Should Confirm Before Shipping

Plan export carton quantities, dimensions, gross weight, labelling and freight details for a bulk cosmetic bag order. A practical buyer checklist before shipment.

QUICK ANSWER

Before approving a bulk cosmetic bag shipment, agree the individual packing, pieces per export carton, carton dimensions, gross weight, labels and destination requirements. Request these details with the quotation and reconfirm the actual packed figures before booking freight.

Start with the complete packing unit

A unit price can refer to the bag alone or to a bag with an individual polybag, tissue, insert, dust bag or retail sleeve. Ask for a written packing specification so you know exactly what is included. If the bag is sold as a skincare set, clarify whether the factory supplies only the empty bag or also assembles products that you provide.

Review our individual cosmetic bag packaging guide for the presentation decision. The export carton is a separate decision: it protects and consolidates the agreed packed units for transport.

Confirm quantity per carton after the sample is approved

The finished bag shape, whether it can be nested, and its individual packaging all affect how many pieces fit safely in a carton. A flat pouch can pack differently from a structured vanity case. Do not choose carton quantity from an unapproved drawing alone.

Ask the factory to propose a packing layout using the approved sample. Check whether folds could create creases, whether hardware or logo areas need separation, and whether the carton can be handled without excessive weight. For multiple colours or sizes, specify whether each carton contains one variant or an approved mix, and request a clear carton count by variant.

Record carton dimensions and weights for the freight quote

Give your freight forwarder the number of cartons, external length, width and height of each carton, gross weight per carton and total gross weight. Confirm the measurement unit and whether pallet dimensions or weight apply. The forwarder may calculate charges using volume as well as actual mass, so an estimate based only on the bag's unit weight can mislead the budget.

Ask the factory to label estimated figures as estimates when quoting early. Reconfirm actual packed carton counts, dimensions and gross weights before pickup or vessel booking. If delivery is split among warehouses, list the quantity and packaging requirements for each destination.

Specify carton markings and traceability

Agree the information needed on the outer carton, such as buyer purchase order, style or SKU, colour, quantity, carton sequence, country of origin and destination marks. Provide the exact wording and placement if your retailer or warehouse has its own labelling rules. Avoid putting a customer's brand or barcode on cartons without approved artwork.

For a mixed order, a packing list should let the buyer connect every carton to its contents. Review one sample carton label or packing list format before bulk packing so errors can be corrected while the goods are still at the factory.

Separate the goods price from shipping and customs charges

Confirm whether the quoted bag price includes individual packing and export cartons, and show any special packaging, inspection, freight and customs related charges separately. State the currency and named shipping term and place. For an EXW quotation, clarify where the goods will be made available; for FOB, clarify the named port and exactly which local services the quoted price covers.

Ask for a revised landed-cost estimate if you change carton size, destination or delivery method. A low unit price does not by itself establish the full import cost. The buyer and forwarder should verify import documents, duties and local requirements for the destination market.

Approve a practical packing check

Request photographs of the final individual packing, a packed export carton and the carton label. Confirm the piece count, variant segregation, closure, protection around protruding hardware, and the condition of bags taken from a test carton. If the retail presentation is sensitive, ask how the factory prevents compression or surface marks during handling.

Agree inspection scope and acceptance criteria before the shipment is released. The approved bag sample controls product appearance and construction; a packing reference controls how the approved bags arrive. Record any agreed change to either reference before bulk dispatch.

Send a concise shipping brief with the RFQ

Share the closest cosmetic bag style, dimensions, quantity per design and colour, individual packaging requirement, delivery destination, required arrival window and preferred trade term. If you already have warehouse carton or barcode rules, attach them at the quotation stage. Ask the supplier to identify any detail that remains provisional until sample approval.

For a structured starting point, compare a PU cosmetic bag example and the sample approval checklist. Send your reference image or tech pack to discuss the packing and quotation.
