QUICK ANSWER
Use a reference image to explain the desired appearance, then supply dimensions, intended contents, hidden construction, custom changes, artwork, quantity and packing. Clearly mark what is known and what needs the supplier's advice.
BUYER REFERENCE TABLE
Reference image to quote-ready cosmetic bag brief
| Input | What to provide | Uncertainty to clarify |
|---|---|---|
| Size and contents | Target dimensions and intended products | External size versus usable internal space |
| Hidden construction | Lining, pockets, dividers and reinforcement | Features not visible in the photograph |
| Branding | Artwork version, dimensions and marked placement | Material-specific method feasibility |
| Order scope | Quantity by design and colour, packing and destination | Components or specifications still awaiting advice |
RFQ CHECKLIST
Confirm these points before requesting a quotation.
- Mark essential features and the changes you want.
- List unknown specifications instead of guessing from the image.
- Ask the supplier to identify assumptions before comparing quotations.
Mark the details you want to keep or change
Annotate the reference with the silhouette, handle, opening, logo panel and other visible features that matter. State which are essential and which may be adapted. Where available, add side, base and interior views so the supplier is not quoting from the front image alone.
Add dimensions rather than inferring scale from the photo
Provide target length, width and height and identify whether these are external or usable internal dimensions. List the bottles, brushes, palettes or other products that must fit. A photograph without measurements cannot establish capacity or the pattern dimensions.
Clarify details the image cannot show
Describe lining, dividers, brush holders, reinforcement and opening direction. Identify the desired material route, but mark thickness, grade or other unknowns for review. A visual finish does not prove that a material is leather, waterproof or recycled.
List branding and commercial inputs
Provide logo artwork and required position, quantity by design and colour, destination and packaging direction. Identify the drawing or photo version used for the quotation. Ask the supplier to list assumptions and unconfirmed components so quotations can be compared on the same basis.
Hand the completed brief into sample development
Compare a PU vanity case or clear PVC pouch as a development reference. After the RFQ is clarified, follow the brief-to-approved-sample development stages and send the brief through Custom Cosmetic Bags.
