Test with the final jewelry set
Approve the sample with the jewelry, watches or accessories it is intended to hold. Check loading, removal, visibility and protection with the actual product sizes rather than a substitute. This is the quickest way to find a ring roll that is too loose, a necklace layout that tangles or a lid that presses on the contents.
Check the outer structure and closing action
Inspect the shape, dimensions, corner finish and alignment from every side. Open and close zippers, hinges, locks or magnetic lids repeatedly. A travel case should close smoothly around corners, while a retail gift box should align neatly and feel secure without requiring excessive force.
Inspect lining and insert fit closely
Look for even lining tension, clean corners, secure lamination, consistent velvet pile and no visible glue. Test each compartment, tray, roll, hook and watch cushion with a realistic load. The insert should support the product without leaving large gaps or making it difficult for customers to remove the jewelry.
Confirm logo, colour and branding details
Compare shell material, lining, thread, zipper or hardware finish and logo against the approved artwork and colour references. Check logo location, size, orientation and legibility from normal viewing distance. Record any accepted variation in writing before the factory prepares bulk materials.
Test hardware and functional details
Check zipper pullers, locks, hinges, magnets, handles, mirrors and metal nameplates for finish, attachment and daily use. For mirror cases, inspect the mirror edge protection and confirm it stays clean in transport. If the case includes a handle or strap, lift it with a realistic product weight.
Review individual and master-carton packing
Confirm dust bags, tissue, polybags, gift sleeves, hangtags, barcode labels and carton marks where relevant. Pack a sample as it will ship, then inspect it after handling. The product must arrive clean, the lid must not rub against the lining, and the final packing should match the expected retail or e-commerce presentation.
Create a signed bulk-production standard
Keep dated sample photos, dimensions, material swatches, insert layout, logo artwork, packing instructions and any agreed changes in one approval record. This becomes the reference for pre-production confirmation and quality inspection. If the sample changes after approval, document and approve the revised version before mass production starts.
Approve only when all final details are confirmed
A sample approval should cover construction, materials, interior layout, artwork and packing together. Approving an incomplete sample can leave important decisions open during production. Send a consolidated written confirmation once every point is correct, then use that record to guide bulk production and inspection.
