CUSTOM BAG BUYER GUIDE

PU vs PVC vs Nylon for Custom Bags

Compare appearance, structure, cleaning, transparency and common uses before selecting PU, PVC or nylon for a custom bag.

PU for a structured leather-look finish

PU materials are widely used for cosmetic cases, toiletry bags, travel bags and lifestyle backpacks. Surface texture, thickness, backing and softness influence both appearance and sewing performance.

PVC when visibility or wipe-clean surfaces matter

Clear PVC works well for transparent cosmetic and travel pouches. Buyers should confirm thickness, clarity, flexibility, odour expectations, cold-temperature performance and the material requirements of the destination market.

Nylon for light weight and performance

Nylon is common in travel, sports and backpack programmes where low weight, abrasion performance and flexible construction are useful. Denier, weave, coating, colour and lining should be specified rather than using nylon as a complete description.

Match the material to the construction

A structured vanity case, foldable duffel and technical backpack place different demands on the outer material. Padding, reinforcement, binding, lining and seams also influence the finished performance.

Approve real samples, not screen colours

Ask to review physical swatches and a completed sample. Confirm colour under consistent lighting, test the intended contents, and record the approved material reference before bulk production.
