Start with relevant product experience
A factory that makes many sewn products may not understand every bag structure. Ask for examples close to your intended cosmetic bag, travel bag, sports bag, backpack or EVA case, then discuss the construction decisions that matter for that category.
Evaluate development communication
Send the same brief to each candidate and compare the questions they ask. A useful supplier should clarify dimensions, materials, intended contents, logo method, quantity, packing, target market and timing before presenting a confident quotation.
Review samples as production standards
A sample should confirm more than appearance. Check dimensions, material hand feel, lining, compartments, zipper operation, load points, logo placement and packing. Record approved revisions so bulk production follows one controlled reference.
Ask how quality is controlled
Understand what is checked before production, during sewing and assembly, and before shipment. Product-specific checkpoints are more meaningful than a general promise of good quality.
Compare total project fit
The lowest unit price is not always the lowest project cost. Consider sampling accuracy, communication speed, realistic lead time, packaging, inspection cooperation and the supplier's ability to repeat the approved result.
