SAMPLE ACCEPTANCE CHECKLIST
Confirm these points before bulk production.
- Test the bag with representative contents—not empty.
- Confirm every functional change on the final sample.
- Approve packing and inspection points before bulk production.
Test the bag with its intended contents
Load the sample as it will be used. For a weekender, test clothing, shoes and toiletries. For a gym-to-travel duffel, test the shoe compartment, wet pocket and main compartment. This is the quickest way to see whether capacity, opening and pocket access work in practice.
Verify measurements and construction
Measure length, width, height and handle drop. Check the opening, gusset depth, pocket dimensions, base reinforcement and whether the bag stands or folds as intended. If it has wheels or a trolley sleeve, test those functions with a realistic load.
Check straps, closures, material and logo
Confirm handle reinforcement, shoulder-strap adjustment, hooks and rings, zipper movement, material texture, lining and hardware finish. Compare the logo with the approved artwork, then review logo size and placement away from heavy seams, folds and high-wear areas.
Approve packing with the finished bag
Check individual protective bags, labels, hangtags, folded position, carton quantity and carton marks. Packing affects product appearance, warehouse handling and delivery condition, so it should be approved with the bag rather than added after production starts.
Create a clear written approval record
Keep final photos and agreed details together: dimensions, materials, colour, logo, components, packing and inspection points. This creates a practical reference for production follow-up and final inspection.
A documented travel bag project
A French retail project for 300 PU travel bags documents the specification and sample-approval decisions behind one finished order. Project details are anonymised; final materials and acceptance points for a new order remain subject to its own approved sample.
